Vaikasi VisakamVisakam is one of the star among the twenty seven Natchathras(Star). Every month the full moon coincides with particular month on particular star that month called with that name. The full moon coincides in the month of Thai in Poosam star , in Masi month with Makam star, in Panguni with Utharam, in Chithirai with chithra , in Vakasi with Visagam.There by the months are called as Thai, Masi, Panguni, Chithrai, Vaigasi respectively and celebrated as Thai poosam, Masi makam, Panguni utharam, Chithrai chithirai, Chithra powrnami, Vaikasi Visakam.Vaikasi Visakam is the Birth Day of Lord Murugan.As such Lord Murugan called as Visakan too..Incarnation of lord Murugan to destroy the evil forces of the Demon King Soorapadman . It is the symbolic of the conquest of the refined intellect over the egoistic mind.
